On the south-western most part of Iceland is Reykjanes, a volcanically active and a barren peninsula.
The area is scarred with fissures and there is much thermal activity. A powerful high temperature area has partially been harnessed to supply energy to a salt factory and a fish processing factory.
First stop will be at one of the oldest lighthouses in Iceland and also see a Gudrun geysir a bubbling mud pot.
There after its where where the European and American tectonic plates meet, where you can walk over a bridge that connects the plates. Last stop is the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing time in the lagoon.
