One of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland is the Blue Lagoon and it has become a victim of it´s own success with record numbers of people visiting each day. In order to avoid chaos, the Blue Lagoon has put limits on the number of people going into the lagoon during the day in the summertime to preserve the relaxing atmosphere and to avoid overcrowding in the lagoon.
It is best to book tickets for the lagoon well in advance if you want to go on the Blue Lagoon Tour, with the mornings and the early afternoons being the busiest. In the late afternoon/evening it is easier to get tickets and slots from 17:00 are usually available. Going to the Blue Lagoon in the late afternoon could therefore be a more enjoyable experience as it is less crowded.
